Live from Outer Space is a listening station for live transmissions of radio storms from outer space, directly engaging the public with citizen science, astronomy and our eternal search for understanding in the universe.
The dome glows golden in the sunlight. A delicate chiming is heard as we approach the entrance of the dome and its warm light invites us to venture into the spacious interior. There are blankets on the ground and comfortable chairs. We discover a starry sky above us - holes in the dome’s PTFE fabric cover. Sunlight passing through these holes creates constellations on the floor which evolve as the sun passes overhead.
There is a mysterious melody ringing through the dome: the sonification of radio signals traveling millions of kilometres through space. Jupiter’s mournful nocturne and the Sun’s brilliant serenades fill us with inspiration and potential.
